TINNIES THROUGH TIME - A CELEBRATION OF AUSTRALIA BEER

With the success of the exhibition “Archaeology” at the Newcastle Gaol Museum, the Shire of Toodyay is proud to present a completely new exhibition, “Tinnies through Time.”

“Tinnies through Time” is a celebration of Australian beers and breweries, from the giants of Swan and Carlton United to the little known local brews. This exhibition has been developed with the assistance of Coopers, Carlton United and Swan Breweries, who have provided a number of rare historical images and vintage beer bottles and tinnies for display.

The exhibition will feature the trails faced by the country’s earliest brewers, the development of the nation’s best-loved beers and the various attempts to encourage or prohibit the sale of beer in hotels across Australia.

“Tinnies through Time” will open with the Toodyay Food and Wine Festival and Avon Descent on the 7th August 2010, and will close on 25th October 2010. Guided tours fro group bookings are available.
