Gabadine Brook Reserve

Duidgee Park & Scenery 009.jpg

Area: 8 ha

Walk  Distance: 1 km

This small reserve is accessed from the Toodyay-Perth Road. Look for the blue sign that reads “Picnic Area” at the 5309 rural number address.

Situated on the old road there are parking areas and basic picnic facilities there.

The Brook flows past the picnic area over water smoothed granite boulders. Spring fed and flowing most of the year Gabidine Brook runs into Jimperding Brook which is a significant tributary of the Avon River.

Take a walk east along the road and you will see the original bridge with its stonework. Cross the creek and wander along the fire break track for a pleasant walk.

You will note that many of the Jam Wattle trees in the reserve have had their bark stripped. This illegal activity is under investigation.
